This is how you make children's wishes come true

A child’s wish gives them something to look forward to and helps them get through their scary and uncertain future if they are facing an incurable illness. Many children have said that their most memorable moment of their condition was when they had a wish experience. A wish provides something more than medicine, something magical, secret, and unique. A wish is the belief and imagination and the courage to confront one’s fears all in one! Wishes are about rediscovering what’s important in life. They restore faith when it seems there is little remaining. In times of darkness, they provide light. Wishing wells exist only in fantasy tales, myths, and folk tales because they are real! Unfortunately, there are no magic wells where you throw a coin, insert your desire, and your desire comes true! Make-A-Wish help make these dreams come true and you can help.

Make wishes come true

These kids, ages 3 to 18, have been diagnosed with a critical illness and are living with life-threatening issues. These children have been out of treatment for at least six months and face a life-long condition. Every child who applies for Make-A-Wish is medically fragile and has an unaddressable future. We believe that every one of these children deserves a chance to dream big and feel joy. Every person who has confronted a medical challenge knows that they cannot always control the environment they’re in. On a wish, they can regain control and feel confident once again when they can envision and dream.

You can help us recruit new volunteers, donors, and members by telling people about the impact a wish experience has on children with life-threatening illnesses. You may also help us spread the word about how people can get involved by holding a fundraising event or recruiting volunteers in a variety of ways.

Make-A-Wish offers a range of volunteer opportunities. You may volunteer virtually from your own home and on your own timetable. Make-A-Wish can be assisted in a variety of ways. You may assist us with fundraising events, help us organize special events for wish families, or become a mentor for a child awaiting their wish. You may also assist us in recruiting new volunteers by sharing your experiences and knowledge with others.

Make-A-Wish Foundation, the largest wish-granting organization in the world, grants between 15,000 and 18,000 life-changing dreams for children with critical diseases each year. Because there are more demands than there are supplies, we cannot give every eligible kid a dream come true. To help make a child’s dream come true, we recruit volunteers, donors, and members.
